Did you know we have 16 species of bats that can be found in Missouri? Can you guess what they eat? Come and join Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center Naturalist Shelly Colatskie and MDC’s bat ecologists Jordan Meyer and Jeanette Bailey, and United States Fish and Wildlife Service Fish and Wildlife Biologist Vona Kuczynska on a virtual program on Missouri's bats! We will briefly discuss bats around the world, what makes a bat a bat, and then focus on Missouri's bats including but not limited to, Missouri’s species of bats, threats to Missouri’s bats (including diseases such as white-nose syndrome, wind turbine collisions, and habitat destruction), diseases such as rabies and histoplasmosis, bat houses (proper placement and tips), and how to make your yard bat friendly. There will be a question and answer session after the presentation. **This is a virtual program. Please register each person attending. You all will receive an email with a WebEx invitation the evening prior to the event. Shelly Colatskie
